“Il Pensiero, la Scelta” is my bachelor’s thesis project, first presented in 2019. The work explores the possibility of creating a connection between audience and performer through the use of brainwaves.

During the performance, a member of the audience is randomly selected and asked to complete a simple 3×3 puzzle. The order in which the puzzle is solved determines the activation of nine sound instruments. The performer controls these instruments using brain activity detected by an Emotiv Epoc EEG headset, which translates a specific mental stimulus into a value between 0 and 1, interpreted by the audio system programmed in MaxMSP.

Sounds are generated and modified in real time through probabilistic algorithms, making each performance unique and unpredictable—shaped both by the audience’s choices and the stochastic nature of the system.

Each time, the piece changes, unpredictable like a mind making choices. No repetition, only possibilities.

This convolution reverb algorithm, programmed by me, allows for the accurate reproduction of the acoustic response of real spaces.

It is a convolution reverb implemented in Csound, based on the use of impulse responses (IRs). The effect offers several parameters that can be controlled in real time, including high-pass and low-pass filters, decay time, filter resonance, and dry/wet balance.

2 Planets is the debut studio album by Marco Crivellaro, known as Marcus Grimm. It was recorded and produced at Teatro delle Voci Studios in Treviso by Jean Charles Carbone, with my support as production assistant.

"Un viaggio nello spazio accompagnato da un pianoforte che si mischia all'elettronica e sonorità sospese: questo disco è la riprova di come uno strumento, se usato bene, può diventare qualsiasi cosa (anche per un disco totalmente strumentale)"

"Donne Si Fa Storia è un progetto di respiro internazionale pensato per le donne e gli uomini di oggi, a partire da uno sguardo storico anche tramite le figure femminili che operarono un cambiamento importante già 100 anni fa."
